Eine spektroskopische Methode, die die Absorption (oder Transmission/Reflexion) von Infrarotstrahlung durch eine Probe misst, wobei vibronische Übergänge molekularer Bindungen charakteristische Absorptionsbanden erzeugen, die zur Identifizierung funktioneller Gruppen und Bindungsmotive genutzt werden.
