Definition

Ein dimensionsloses thermodynamisches Verhältnis (Ω), das die Sättigung des Meerwassers gegenüber einem bestimmten Karbonatmineral quantifiziert, definiert als Produkt der Aktivität (oder Konzentration) von gelöstem Calcium- und Carbonat-Ionen dividiert durch das Löslichkeitsprodukt des Minerals (Ω = [Ca2+][CO3^2-]/Ksp).
