Definition

The ratio of actual electrical energy produced by a power‑producing facility over a specified time period to the energy that facility would have produced if it had operated at its continuous nameplate (rated) power for the same period, expressed as a percentage; the metric aggregates resource availability, maintenance outages and operational curtailment but does not measure conversion efficiency.
